然後本曲讓人再次感受到編曲的力量，在電影中的這首歌聽起來根本像宗教詩篇，但實際上Will the circle be unbroken是很正宗的民謠歌曲。
由於早期鄉村音樂是和18、19世紀英國移民帶來的傳統民謠一脈相承，所以本曲的民謠性其實還相當重（本曲亦有來自福音歌曲的說法），甚至是相當難確定真正的原作者是誰。
畢竟美國當時相當流行把民謠改編為流行歌曲，而這亦是美國早期流行歌曲兩大來源之一（另一則為百老匯的流行曲，透過賣唱片與琴譜而普及全國，影響力甚至遠達西部）。
本曲的原版是由被公認為是鄉村第一家的The Carter Family所演唱，他們在1927年與唱片公司簽約，成功打進全國市場。而且往後好幾代的流行鄉村音樂家都以他們的作品為核心來創作。
一開始知道這首Will the circle be unbroken是鄉村音樂時，我有點難以想像，不過後來也確實陸續聽到了不少相當輕快活潑、適合在營火邊演奏的版本。在為編曲可以造成如此巨大影響驚訝地同時，我也瞭解到一首好曲子怎樣編都是好聽的。

這首曲子其實有多個版本，而且已經被翻唱到爆，亦不乏相當有地位的翻唱，例如NGDB的鄉村音樂輯。或許好歌就是這樣，更何況本曲的民謠性很重，這也代表本曲在編曲手法運用上可以更靈活。畢竟旋律重也可以說是民謠的優點，聽個一兩次就可以朗朗上口。最後也要感謝chenelf，她搜尋到我那篇女權天使的觀影心得時，熱心的詢問我是否想要原聲帶。看來有空多寫寫文章果然是好事，拜託那家片商快出DVD吧！（怨念）
原聲帶中有兩個版本，美聲版以及劇中合唱版，而且後者還是標準的原音收錄，連史旺被灌食的聲音都一清二楚。此外要小小得意一下，當初電影看到那邊時，在開始合唱前我就相當直覺的認為，這個時候就該唱歌！而接下來果然角色們就開始合唱了，效果好得不能再好，可見本人也有一點點導演的直覺？（誤）
這首年紀肯定比你我都大上幾輪經典曲目到如今，早已有屬不清的版本流傳。但做為歲月無法抹滅藝術的代表之一，Will the circle be unbroken仍是一首可以感動無限世代的歌曲。
